The Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre
(MRCC) of the Marine Department is conducting a search and rescue
operation for four fishermen who are reported missing in the wake
of a vessel collision in East Lamma Channel this (Friday) morning.
The collision involved a local fishing vessel with five fishermen
on board and a Myanmar registered cargo ship, Magway, around 6.14

The fishing vessel sank after the collision and a fisherman was
plucked by a police launch while four others have gone missing.
The MRCC has tasked a Marine Department launch, four police launches,
three fireboats and a Government Flying Service helicopter to
the scene for the search and rescue operation.
After the incident, the 9,990 gross registered tonne Magway is
