| HK hosts international vessel traffic symposium | ||

Hong Kong will host the 10th International Symposium on Vessel Traffic Services from February 10-13, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The symposium is jointly organised by the Marine Department in Hong Kong and the International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities. The symposium will focus on the importance of harmonising human services and technology for effective vessel traffic operations. In the symposium, international experts on port management and the industry will explore and share the latest developments and technological advances in vessel traffic services with the goal of improving navigation safety and efficiency. Papers covering current and future application of vessel traffic services will be presented during the symposium. Concurrently, an exhibition will be held at the venue on the latest products and services offered by the global vessel traffic services industry. Ends/Sunday, February 8, 2004 |
