The Director of Marine has ordered an investigation
into an accident last night (October 23) in which a jetfoil from
Hong Kong stopped suddenly as it approached Macau causing injuries
to passengers, a spokesman for the Marine Department said today
(October 24).
The spokesman said investigating officers from the department
were proceeding to Macau to commence the enquiry into the cause
of the accident and the subsequent action of the crew. The investigation
is expected to take two months to complete.
In the accident which took place at about 8 pm last night, more
than 30 passengers and crew on board of Urzela of Shun Tak - China
Travel Ship Management Ltd were injured.
