| A sampan collided with a speedboat at Tung
Chung Wan, Lantau Island, this (July 28) afternoon, a spokesman
for the Marine Department said today.
In the incident, 13 persons were sent to hospital for medical treatment. As at 6 pm today, one person was certified dead, one in critical condition, two in stable condition, one under observation and the remaining eight persons were treated and discharged. The incident took place at about noon today and the two vessels are now moored at the berth of the nearby Sha Lo Wan. The Marine Department is now investigating the incident.
