In addition to traditional lecture room fitted with full audio visual teaching aids, various computer based simulation equipment has been installed in the Training Centre.

  • Full Mission Ship Simulator
  • Global Maritime Distress and Safety System Simulator
  • Vessel Traffic Services Simulator
Full Mission Ship Simulator

The Full Mission Ship Simulator comprises of a main bridge and a second bridge, each with a 210 degree angle of view. Both bridges are equipped with fully functional navigation and communication consoles. A virtual marine environment is created with the projection on the curved screen and plasma display. In addition, a separate instructor station is used to monitor and interact with the simulation exercises conducted in the replica bridges.

A 3D graphic database management software is available to create and edit specific ship types and exercise areas to suit clients’ training need. In addition to normal navigational conditions, various unusual and emergency situations can be simulated to meet different training objective, for instance, unfavourable weather, sea, tidal and traffic conditions, engine and steering breakdown etc.
