Accreditation
The following accreditation has been achieved by the Training
Centre:

ISO 9001
Following the conduct of an external audit, ISO 9001 accreditation by Bureau Veritas
Certification on behalf of UKAS Quality Management has been maintained since
December 2001.
- IALA VTS Training and Assessment
In accordance with the Guidelines for the Accreditation of Institutes for Training
VTS Personnel issued by the International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation
and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA), the Centre was accredited by Director of Marine
on behalf of the Competent Authority in December 2001.
- GMDSS Training and Examination
The approval to conduct course and examination of GMDSS General Operator’s
Certificate and Restricted Operator’s Certificate which comply with STCW 95
requirements was granted by the Office of the Telecommunications Authorities of the
Hong Kong SAR Government in April 2002.
- Radar Operator Training and Examination
The Radar Operator Course for Hong Kong Waters fully complies with the
requirement of the Seafarers' Certification Section and is one of the approved courses
which fulfill the qualification requirement of a radar operator on board local ferries.
